Reyna and Donny

In Engagements by Marvin / March 13, 2012 / 2 Comments

Seeing Donny and Reyna smiling and laughing is contagious, don’t you agree? I can’t help but smile every time I see their pictures and think, “Oh My!”

It all started at Eastlake middle school when Donny saw Reyna, and thought that her smile and braces could brighten up anyone’s day!

Donny was a substitute teacher working along side with Reyna.  The assignment was to work with Reyna and help out with her daily projects at school but things took a different leap.  Donny’s heart skipped a beat.  He had to find a way to communicate and e-mail was the perfect method at that time to ask a simple date, a meeting to get to know each other.  Both just clicked!  Fast forward the time and it was December of 2009 when Donny and Reyna became official.  Through winter breaks the two formed a bond that no one can break, it was only a matter of time before their friendship simmered to the next step.

He knew that she was the one, the one that can melt his heart and brighten up his day, the one that he will forever deemed as the “greatest story” that will begin in July 2012.  Stay tuned!

At Sigma Six, we love hearing your thoughts about Reyna and Donny, stay for a moment and comment.  We greatly appreciate your response!

Patricia and Hans

In Engagements,Weddings by Jannie / February 5, 2012 / 0 Comments

Do you remember those times back in high school and college when you and your friends used to talk about taking road trips, go sight-seeing, and especially going abroad? Those were the good days. Planning about what it would be like to experience meeting new people, the different cultures out there, and especially the variety of scrumptious food in another country like India, Spain, or Italy. Mmm…Italian food sounds good. Warm bread with pasta, seafood, and especially wine sounds satisfying!

At Bice Ristorante, an Italian restaurant in downtown San Diego, they satisfy those delicious cravings while making you feel welcome and comfortable, especially if you’re enjoying a romantic time out with a love one. Specifically for Hans and Patricia, one particular time out together there, will definitely be one to remember. As a matter of fact, the two became engaged at Bice Ristorante and are more than ready to share their Italian cravings together, forever and always!

These two love each other for who they are and of course that includes the funny and crazy things they do! Now what does that mean? Well one way that you can definitely remember and distinguish them apart from other couples, is by how Patricia “baby talks” to Hans and how Hans has those cheesy pick-up lines. Yes, you heard right! Just by the sight of each other they can start a whole laughing scheme because of their hilarious inside jokes, which makes it all the more fun and exciting to be around each other! So imagine what it would be like at their wedding! How fun that’ll be! Though don’t worry if you can’t make it. You can still see these two smiling and giggling from the photographs, taken by your one and only Sigma Six! They’ve got all that covered!

Congratulations! You got engaged! Let’s start looking for a wedding photographer!

There are times future brides tend to wait the last minute before they hire a wedding photographer.  It may be common because of the pressure that each individual go through planning their wedding. Our advise, don’t wait that long. It is said that you should choose your wedding photographer 8 months before your BIG day arrives. That’s plenty of time right?

To some, yes, but when you are the star of the show, time flies quickly when you are also balancing life.

You got other things to worry about, such as cake vendor, videographer, reception area, guest list, church prep, wedding coordinators (<WISE INVESTMENT), florist, etc.

So let’s get dirty and get you that tip!  We’ve assembled a couple finding the right photographer.  You can start by asking your family and friends who might know of a photographer that may be recommended or you can work with. You can also visit websites such as weddingwire.com, wedding blogs, and other sites to find a closer photographer that might be the right one and in your budget.  OR You may be set with a photographer that you’ve been following their portfolio, that may be the case but these tips won’t hurt you to carry when the day arrives you sign the dotted line for a wedding photography contract..  Nevertheless, here we go!

TIP #1
Hire a wedding photographer that you can be comfortable with.
The last thing on your mind is to worry about your photographer.  Meet with your photographer and discuss the possibilities. And also that TIP #2 can become a reality.

TIP #2
Get an Engagement session going and find out their availability for your wedding day.
An engagement session usually breaks the ice between you and your photographer.  It also determines the chemistry and product results you might be looking for.  In between the engagement session, you’ll find out right away if this is the photographer you want to work with.  Conversations should be started in regards to your wedding day if he/she will be available.

TIP #3
Ask for references or testimonials
Since you’ll be researching their website either thru referral or Google.com, ASK.

TIP #4
Experience and past engagements
At times some photographers will not have the years of experience, which is important, but you also need to have an open mind.  Carry on TIP #1 and see their work first before making that commitment.  Usually young photographers may not carry the experience but has the eye and artistic level you might be looking for.  And besides they can only get better as time progress before your BIG day arrives.  Be Open Minded.  See their portfolio, online or in person.

TIP #5
Contract and Payment agreements / Pricing
Make sure that you are getting all the options and service agreement on paper.  There is a reason why a wedding photography cost anywhere between $1800 to $30,000.  (That’s not a typo!)  Sometimes options can be pricey or not. Get the essentials such as a photo album or canvas prints.  Most photographers will include high-res images on a DVD or CD.  You cannot put a price on memory, this is a one time event that you want to make sure it will be remembered for generations to come.

TIP #6
Delivery of media and goods.
Make sure to ASK the estimated delivery of all goods and services.  IMPORTANT! and put it in WRITING!

TIP #7
ENJOY!
Enjoy your time!  Tip #1 carries over – Be comfortable with your photographer.  The last thing that he/she wants to do is stress you out on your BIG Day!  Everything will work out as planned.

There are more tips that we can add, in our book this is probably 7 of the most important items to ask when hiring your wedding photographer. In between the transactions, you’ll form a bond so strong that will only lead to greater things when your day arrives.  Think of it as working with your best friend!

Good Luck interviewing and Congratulations!

I’ve only heard great stuff about KISS Wedding Albums that is until we tried them.

Now KISS, we are very impressed how the workflow was processed.  Definitely left a lasting impression on us.

It is true! Your first KISS, unforgettable.

Our Rehearsal album for the Editha and David.  We admit we had too much fun during the rehearsal and their wedding anniversary. Their story. Captured.

When can we tell your story?

Angela and Bill

In Engagements by Marvin / September 2, 2011 / 0 Comments

What a great couple! Angela and Bill are set to exchange their vows next year and we are very fortunate to be a part of that very special day. It started out as friends just hanging out at Coronado Bay and date nights at the movies. In 2010 (9 years later), Bill proposed in a place where the flowers blossom in spring and the summer nights are perfect for star-gazing – at the premier mountain retreat of Julian, Angela happily accepted his proposal.

I can tell you all the details but we are saving that on their wedding day in which we will be covering next year.  Congratulations Angela and Bill!

Our session takes place in lovely Coronado, CA.   For Jon, the ideal place to take their engagement shoot would have been the happiest place on Earth! Where else?  Disneyland!  It is where he proposed to Leah.  Due to timing, we chose an alternate location.  Now they are carefully planning their journey together next year for their BIG DAY!  We can can’t wait for that and we know its only around the corner.
